Home Defense In A Survival Situation
Home Defense
When a catastrophic event takes place, there will be many starving people. Chances are very good that you will have to protect what you have prepared so long for. Protect yourself and your family … and your supplies.
Whenever there’s chaos, there will be those intent on doing harm in order to get what they want. Who will they automatically target? (Another good reason to keep all information about your prepping to yourself.)
They will want to steal from you. They will not care if they must cause physical bodily harm or even kill you and your family. They will take everything they want. That is, unless you’re prepared. You need to also be prepared to meet the threat.
One way to prepare is to have the right combination of weapons to defend your home and family. Weapons to keep them from getting close to you. If they get close, it will probably be all over. At least the stakes get raised extremely higher.
As a former Law Enforcement Officer I can tell you that anyone who is intent on causing you harm, for whatever reason, will not care one bit what they have to do in order to subdue you or completely remove you from the picture. You must be able to stop a situation immediately.
.What if you don’t like guns? Or what if you don’t like guns in the home? You don’t need to like it. But you do need to have them and know how to use them. Just the fact you have a gun and ready to use it will thwart a hostile action in many cases.
I’m not going to go into what type of guns you need, but suggest you talk with a reputable gun dealer. They can help you with your choices and also help with the training to use them.
You should also consider having a nice knife that you can use as a weapon should it become necessary for hand-to-hand fighting. Here again, a knife can also convince another person to leave you alone.
I will admit however, that there are times that the best course of action is to just hide. If you see you’ll be faced with terrible odds, like twenty to one, chances are you just might lose.
If you don’t feel the chances are in your favor, then have a plan of action as to how you and your family can hide from harm. Remain hidden until you know the
threat has passed. Insure that all family members are well versed in all your plans of action.
Ever considered taking a self defense class? Go ahead. You might get caught without a weapon and have to defend yourself. I’m not suggesting you necessarily take a martial arts class such as Karate or Judo, but that you at least take some type of self defense class. After studying three different martial arts, I can tell you that the knowledge of street fighting techniques can be a lot more helpful in certain situations.
So the choice is yours. Whether to plan for a defense that will keep you and your family safe from harm, or not prepare and be willing to give up all you have. Perhaps including your life.
